Technical Features of Hydrocyclones in Starch Processing Equipment

When the two-phase mixture to be separated enters the hydrocyclone tangentially at a constant pressure, it generates intense three-dimensional, elliptical, highly rotating, shearing turbulence. Due to the size difference between coarse and fine particles, they are subjected to varying degrees of centrifugal force, centripetal buoyancy, and fluid drag. As a result of centrifugal sedimentation, the majority of coarse particles are discharged through the hydrocyclone's underflow outlet, while the majority of fine particles are discharged through the overflow pipe, thus achieving the desired separation and classification.
